About the role
The Senior Construction Engineer role will be responsible for the delivery of civil and drainage projects from inception to completion. This includes planning of projects, feasibility and option analysis, design procurement, engagement and management of design consultants, tendering and procurement of contractors, tender evaluations, contract administration, construction delivery, internal and external stakeholder engagement and risk analysis.
The program includes civil engineering projects, road reconstructions, drainage upgrades, integrated water management, stormwater harvesting systems, water sensitive urban design, recreational/open space projects, operations centre (depot) works and any other civil engineering projects.

Skills and experience require to perform the role
- Tertiary (Degree) qualification in Civil Engineering, enabling eligibility for Membership of the Institute of Engineers Australia.
- Required to be registered under Professional Engineers Registration Act 2019.
- Extensive experience in the supervision of contractors.
- Extensive experience in the construction of civil works.
- Local government experience in the engineering field and a sound knowledge of LPOD, OSD and WSUD principles relating to multi-unit development applications, approvals and site inspections.
- Ability to work on civil construction sites.
- Understanding of Quality Assurance.
- A current Victorian driver’s licence.
- White/Red Card
