The Opportunity

We are seeking a talented and experienced Head Chef to join our team at Earlybirds Cafe' in Rockhampton, QLD. As Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all culinary operations and ensuring the highest standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and lead a team of passionate and skilled chefs

Develop and implement innovative seasonal menus that showcase fresh, locally-sourced ingredients

Ensure adherence to food safety and hygiene standards

Monitor food and labour costs, and implement strategies to maximise profitability

Foster a positive and collaborative work environment in the kitchen

Liaise with the front-of-house team to deliver exceptional customer experiences

Participate in regular team meetings and training sessions

What We're Looking For

Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a Head Chef or in a similar senior culinary role

Strong working knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and menu development

Excellent time management, multitasking, and problem-solving skills

Proven ability to lead and motivate a team

Passion for creating delicious, visually appealing dishes

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards

Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
