About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cyber Security Risk Assessor to join our high-performing and fast-paced ICT Cyber Security team. This role is critical to ensuring our systems and applications meet the highest standards of security in alignment with the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and the Information Security Manual (ISM).

Key Responsibilities

As a Cyber Security Risk Assessor, you will:

Conduct security risk assessments across Azure Cloud, legacy ICT systems, AI technologies, and complex environments.

Provide expert guidance on system and application designs in line with PSPF, ISM, and the Essential Eight.

Liaise with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to communicate cyber risks and recommendations.

Present findings and risk assessments to senior executive audiences.

Identify opportunities to enhance the department’s security posture.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement compliant security solutions.

Essential Criteria

To be considered, you must:

Have 5+ years of experience conducting cyber security risk assessments within Government.

Demonstrate expertise in Azure Cloud, legacy systems, AI technologies, and complex ICT environments.

Possess current knowledge of PSPF, ISM, and Essential Eight frameworks.

Be skilled in stakeholder engagement and communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Have a strong understanding of networking infrastructure.

Be Canberra-based and hold a current NV1 security clearance.

Skills & Capabilities

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to manage high workloads and work independently under pressure.

Sound judgment and a collaborative mindset.

Experience with Operational Technologies is highly desirable.
