About the Business Unit:

The Barwon Southwest Prison Precinct incorporates four custodial facilities located 6km north-west of Lara, 20km from the centre of Geelong and about 70km from Melbourne. The four custodial facilities consist of two maximum security prisons being HM Prison Barwon and Western Plains Correctional Centre and medium security prison Marngoneet Correctional Centre and Karreenga Annex. The BSW Prison Services Team provides both operational and administrative services to HMP Barwon, Marngoneet Correctional Centre and the Karreenga Annex.

About the Role:

A Property Administrator provides strong administrative support in handling sensitive Prison and Prisoner documentation, administrative and business support services.

Some of your duties will include:

  • As part of the Records & Property team, and under supervision, providing high quality services and perform all functions pertaining to prisoner records, Individual Management File (IMF) registry and prison archives at BSW prisons
  • Coordinate the preparation of all documentation relating to a prisoner's transfer, classification, release and court appearances and undertake operational processes associated with the prison's bails and discharges
  • Controling and managing the daily operations of the Prisoners information into the PIMS and E*Justice Systems.

About You:

As our ideal candidate, you will possess:

  • Well-developed computer skills
  • Ability to undertake inquiries, prepare reports, correspondence and statistical returns
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, procedures, guidelines and regulations.
