Located at Woodman Point, Cockburn Power Boats is a non-profit, member-based Club proudly supporting a community of approximately 1200 members. We aim to promote and encourage the safe and enjoyable use of recreational watercraft powered by sail or engine. We’re also dedicated to educating our members on recreational boating regulations and safety at sea.
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant / Systems Administrator to join our team. This role supports the Club’s financial management and IT systems, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations while contributing to the Club’s long-term success.
Reporting directly to the Club Manager, you will:
Manage and maintain financial systems, including budgets, reporting, payroll, accounts receivable and payable, and audits.
Maintain accurate financial records, including BAS, bank reconciliations and superannuation payments.
Ensure financial processes and associated documents are compliant with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls, while proactively identifying and managing financial risks.
Oversee and maintain IT systems, access controls, ensuring security, efficiency, and user support.
Provide insights and analysis to support sound decision-making by the Club Manager and Management Committee.
Deliver high-quality Member and customer service by managing inquiries (in person, via telephone and email), processing memberships, maintaining databases, and supporting general administrative tasks.
Liaise with external accountants to complete biannual account health check of the Club’s accounts in the months of May and November.
Assist in driving future projects and initiatives to support the Club’s growth and development.
What We’re Looking For
Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline, with CA qualification preferred (though not essential).
Proficient in financial modelling, budgeting, and forecasting techniques.
Experience in management accounting, financial analysis, and payroll preferably within a small organisation/club/association.
Proficient in dedicated accounting and CRM software (i.e. Triumph).
Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyse and present complex financial data clearly.
Great communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with members, staff, and committee
Strong IT systems knowledge and troubleshooting ability.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
