Novus Education (RTO Code: 45082) is seeking Trainers and Assessors for the day-to-day quality delivery of training, assessment and student services (including design, development, piloting and validation of training and assessment tools, resources, supporting materials and processes) for the following qualifications:
CHC52025 - Diploma of Community Service
CHC62015 - Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management
Training location is in our Ultimo Campus. The available position/s are for trainers/ assessors who will be assigned to student groups that will be timetabled according to the training plans and availability.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Delivering training, assessment and student services that adhere to the principles of access and equity, meet the individual needs of students, and maximise outcomes for students;
Designing, developing and continuously improving training and assessment tools, resources and materials that comply with the mandates of relevant Training Packages, and that meet workplace and regulatory requirements, as appropriate;
Develop training facilitation plan per each unit of competency, ensure the face to face/online training delivery is conducted in accordance to developed training and assessment strategy and the assessment schedule.
Conducting assessment and making assessment decisions in accordance with the principles of assessment and rules of evidence;
Validating, moderating and continuously improving assessment tools and processes, and moderating assessment decisions;
Ensure an accurate record of student’s academic performance and attendance are recorded and kept for each student in a timely and systematically manner.
Reporting on students regarding absenteeism.
Demonstrating current industry skills directly relevant to the training and assessment services being delivered;
Actively engaging in ongoing professional development to ensure the continued currency of VET knowledge and skills, industry skills / vocational competence, and trainer / assessor competence;
Undertaking and delivering outcomes for such other duties, activities and projects as may from time to time be assigned by the RTO Manager.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with employers, industry partners, and community organizations to secure quality placement opportunities.
Match students/trainees to appropriate work placements based on skills, interests, and program requirements.
Provide pre-placement preparation and guidance to students, including resume support, interview preparation, and workplace expectations.
Coordinate placement logistics including scheduling, documentation, and compliance with legal and institutional policies.
Monitor and evaluate the progress of students during placements through regular check-ins, feedback, and site visits.
Resolve issues that may arise between students and employers during placement.
Maintain accurate records and databases of placements, employer contacts, and student progress.
Collaborate with faculty, academic advisors, and administrative staff to ensure placements align with curriculum goals.
Collect feedback from employers and students to improve placement processes.
Necessary qualifications:
Diploma of Community Services/Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management or Equivalent tertiary qualifications
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; TAE40116 or TAE40110 along with TAEASS502 and TAELLN401 units, or Higher level of Training and Assessment qualifications
Relevant/current industry experience
Knowledge of AQTF, ASQA
4 + years practical work experience in the field you deliver training
A national police check (issued within the past 12 months)
Unrestricted right to work in Australia
