About the Organisation

Yolk Digital is seeking a highly experienced Technical Delivery Manager (Technical) for the Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade (DFAT) in the Exchange and Operating Environment Section of the Information Management and Technology Division, serving as the primary point of contact for managed ICT services, acting as key liaison between providers and internal teams, managing end-to-end service delivery, maintaining stakeholder relationships, ensuring alignment with contractual obligations and business objectives, and overseeing end-user desktop environment including SOE, Active Directory, Exchange, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, and Application Packaging.

Working Arrangements

Hybrid: DFAT will consider a hybrid working arrangement of 4 days in office (Canberra based) + 1 day from home at DFAT's sole and absolute discretion. Remote / interstate based candidates will not be considered.

Security Clearance

An active Negative Vetting 2 (NV2) clearance is required.

Key Responsibilities

Reviewing and renewing contracts for managed ICT services.

Identifying the technical risks and prepare the State of Requirements for an Approach to Market for Windows 11 MOE and Applications packaging support.

Taking on the lead technical role for transition of new services or providers, ensuring service readiness and clear expectations.

Ensuring services are delivered in line with contractual Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Work closely with other teams and external vendors to ensure seamless system functionality, integration, and efficiency.

Building and maintaining strong customer relationships, ensuring consistent communication and engagement at both operational and executive levels.

Managing service expectations and facilitating continuous improvement.

Ensuring accurate and up-to-date service documentation and escalation procedures.

Skills & Experience

DFAT seeks a suitable candidate with the following SFIA level:

Delivery and Operation / Technology Management / Technology Service Management (ITMG) - SFIA Level 6

The candidate should have exposure & technical experience with:

Cloud technologies like Entra ID, Intune

Modern Microsoft stack (Microsoft 365, Windows server)

Security (MDM, Sophos, Defender, Tenable)

Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange

PowerShell, MSI/MSIX packaging, and desktop SOE deployment

Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science or related fields, or ITIL Foundation certification.

Essential Criteria

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers, internal teams, and stakeholders.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Facilitate meetings, taking structured minutes, tracking action items, and following up on outcomes.

Proven ability to keep senior stakeholders informed and engaged, manage risks and issues and coordinate releases.
