The Canberra Reading Clinic seeks passionate and dedicated Literacy Specialists to join our team.
Full time preferred part time and casual applicants considered.
You will play a crucial role in providing individualised Tier 3 Intervention to clients with reading and learning difficulties . You will work closely with children, helping them develop essential reading skills and fostering a love for learning. This is an excellent opportunity to positively impact the lives of struggling readers and contribute to their success.
Responsibilities:
We follow an evidence-based approach to provide one-on-one, FACE-TO-FACE instruction to students with reading difficulties.
Collaborate with other educators and professionals to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to each student's learning.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping struggling readers overcome their challenges.
Effortlessly apply positive based learning to encourage and foster student success.
Skills/Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (e.g. Special Education, Literacy).
Bachelor's in Speech and Linguistics.
Experience as Learning Support, Teacher Aide, Teacher, Speech Pathologist, Occupational Therapist or Special Education.
Experience working with students with reading difficulties in one to one and small group settings.
Strong knowledge of evidence-based reading instruction methods and strategies.
Familiarity with literacy assessment tools.
Visa sponsorship will be provided for successful candidates without existing Australian work rights.
Valid Working with Vulnerable People check must be obtained before commencement.
