Specialist Community Drug and Alcohol Clinician
Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD), Community Mental Health Service - Young – is looking for a motivated and skilled Drug and Alcohol Mental Health Clinician. In this role you will be responsible for delivering holistic, person-centered and trauma-informed care to people with substance use issues and their families and carers. You will be collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan and deliver comprehensive, Drug and Alcohol support to the regional community of Young and surrounds.

Renumeration: $72,152.53 - $113,226.00 per annum, pro rata (+ super +17.5% leave loading where applicable)

Who we are:
The Young CMHAOD team has approximately 10 multidisciplinary clinicians and a range of support staff, who provide MH AOD services, across the life span. Young CMHAOD is collocated with Young Health Service.
We work closely with Medicare Mental Health and other community organisations to ensure people receive the right care for their needs. At a district level we have access to clinical leaders for MH, AOD and other specialty services such as Aboriginal Mental Health, eating disorders and Perinatal Infant Mental Health.

What you’ll be doing:
This clinical position involves the provision of intake, assessment, evidence based interventions and case management services to individuals presenting to the service with issues related to substance use in accordance with relevant NSW Health guidelines.
Interventions to be provided by this position include initiating and managing planned treatment options, psychosocial interventions, case management, crisis management, withdrawal management, consultation and referral to other agencies, advocacy for the client group and assistance with opioid replacement administration where appropriate.
Integral to the position is the provision of professional advice to, and liaison with, other health, community and welfare professionals.
The position provides age-appropriate services to individuals of all ages (children, adolescents, adults and the elderly).
The position may also, as required, assist with the provision of support for other D&A consumers during periods of D & A Clinician leave. The position works as part of the larger MHDA team.

Criteria:
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
1. Qualification as per classification listed in position description
2. Membership of the peak body professional association for Social Workers or Occupational Therapists, Nurses AHPRA
3. NSW Working with children clearance
