About the Role
The Health Promotion Officer works within the Health Promotion Team with the aim to promote the wellbeing of the community and encourage healthy lifestyles, prevent disease, illness and injury and to enable environments that support health and wellbeing.
This position works with partner agencies in the integrated health promotion plan, across Greater Shepparton, Strathbogie, and Moira local government areas. This position will be based in Shepparton.
This position reports to the Manager of Healthy Communities at Primary Care Connect and works within the Health Promotion Team. It is also expected that this position will work within the larger Primary Care Connect teams, and network with external organisations.
Key Selection Criteria
Essential
- Tertiary qualification in Public Health, Health Promotion or related field
- Excellent knowledge, understanding and proven application of health promotion principles
- Demonstrated ability to identify, develop, implement and evaluate community education/health promotion projects
- The ability to liaise with a wide range of stakeholders and create/maintain effective partnerships
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Well developed verbal and written communication skills
- Experience using technology to complete daily work tasks
- Professional and personal alignment with primary Care Connects core values
