We’re looking for a qualified, detail-driven Bookkeeper with solid Xero experience to join our Redland Bay office. If you’ve worked in international shipping, transport, or any industry where the numbers meet the moving parts, even better. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on initiative, takes pride in consistency, and wants to grow with a team that values reliability and dedication.
What you’ll be doing
Supporting our Managing Director and the wider team, you’ll keep our financials and admin humming along like clockwork. Your responsibilities will include:
Checking & updating supplier, customer, and vendor contact cards
Answering and directing incoming calls
Processing bank payments (including foreign currency payments)
Reconciling supplier statements of accounts
Preparing and sending invoices
Entering and coding supplier bills
Paying supplier bills, reconciling payments, and sending remittance advices
Managing accounts receivable – monitoring and chasing overdue invoices
Completing End of Month reconciliations and identifying discrepancies
Weekly reporting on payables and receivables
Updating internal databases and spreadsheets
Overflow / relief operational work
Keeping the office running smoothly (tidiness, amenities, stationery, PO Box mail checks)
What you bring to the table
Strong bookkeeping experience (bank recs, invoices, bills, allocations, end of month procedures)
Hands-on experience with Xero
Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)
Advanced Excel skills (financial formulas, spreadsheets)
High attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
Organisational and time-management abilities
A proactive, initiative-taking attitude – you don’t wait to be told what’s broken, you fix it
Solid data entry skills and the ability to spot numerical errors
Experience with Apple products (MacBooks) and confidence with Microsoft suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, OneDrive, SharePoint, Loop, Planner)
Proven background in accounts administration or bookkeeping roles
Experience in shipping, logistics, or transport (desirable but not essential)
