About the role
The City of Sydney is seeking a Safety & Risk Specialist to support a large operational workforce and ensure safe, efficient and customer-focused service delivery.
In this role you will:
champion a proactive safety culture across operations
support managers and coordinators with WHS and P&C compliance
oversee audits, inspections and safety monitoring
identify risks and implement preventative strategies
lead incident response and investigations
partner with WHS, P&C and compliance teams on projects
monitor KPIs and safety performance, driving improvements
provide specialist advice and deliver WHS initiatives across depots.
We're looking for someone with:
tertiary qualifications in WHS (or equivalent experience)
strong background in WHS, risk and workforce safety
experience supporting large, diverse operational teams
solid knowledge of WHS legislation, risk and incident management
ability to foster positive, accountable team culture
understanding of cleansing operations, plant and equipment safety
continuous improvement mindset with strong stakeholder skills
current Senior First Aid Certificate.

This role has the option of a rostered day off each month, known as a 19-day month.
The recommended applicant must have completed a pre-employment health declaration and a criminal history check.
