One full time ongoing vacancy is available.

Lead meaningful work supporting survivors of institutional child sexual abuse.

We are seeking a compassionate and strategic Manager to lead a specialist team delivering high-level policy advice in relation to the National Redress Scheme for Institutional Child Sexual Abuse (the Scheme).

About the Scheme
The National Redress Scheme for Institutional Child Sexual Abuse provides support to people who experienced institutional child sexual abuse. It offers survivors access to counselling and psychological care, a direct personal response from an Institution (such as an apology) and a monetary payment.

Our team supports the NT Government's participation in the Scheme by ensuring timely, respectful, and trauma-informed responses to survivors, while maintaining strong partnerships with Commonwealth counterparts and the Scheme Operator.

Key Responsibilities

Provide high-level policy and strategic advice on the implementation of the National Redress Scheme across the Territory.

Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team working with complex and highly sensitive survivor information in a trauma-informed environment.

Build and maintain strong partnerships with the Commonwealth and NT government agencies, non-government organisations and survivor advocacy groups.

Oversee the provision of direct personal responses and the brokerage of counselling and psychological services for eligible survivors.

Manage complex requests for protected information from the Scheme Operator within strict timeframes and confidentiality obligations.

Prepare and review Cabinet submissions, business plans, strategic briefings and high-level correspondence.

Advise on legislative and systemic reform opportunities that uphold the rights and needs of survivors.

About You
You are a dynamic, collaborative leader who brings experience in complex legislative environments and a deep understanding of trauma-informed practice. You thrive in roles that require sensitivity, integrity, and cross-sector collaboration.

You will have:

Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying complex legislation.

Proven ability to lead and support teams dealing with sensitive and protected information.

Strong oral and written communication skills, including stakeholder engagement and negotiation.

Experience providing high-level policy and strategic advice across government.

Excellent planning, problem-solving, and organisational skills.

Sound knowledge of public sector financial management practices.

Desirable

Qualifications in psychology, social work, law, human services or a related field.

Experience working with survivors of trauma, particularly child sexual abuse.
