Our client is seeking an experienced HR/Payroll Administrator to join their team in Sydney, supporting both HR and payroll functions across a national remit. This is an excellent opportunity to bring your expertise to a well-regarded organisation that values accuracy, compliance, and employee care.
About the Role
In this position, you will provide comprehensive administrative support across payroll and human resources. You’ll be responsible for ensuring payroll is processed accurately and on time, maintaining employee records, and assisting with a variety of HR functions to support a smooth and compliant workplace.
Key responsibilities include:
Processing and verifying payroll transactions for timely and accurate payment.
Maintaining employee records including onboarding, changes, and terminations in HRIS/payroll systems.
Preparing and distributing contracts, letters, and payroll documentation.
Assisting with interpreting awards, EBAs, and HR policies.
Responding to employee queries on payroll, leave entitlements, and policies.
Coordinating HR administration tasks such as recruitment support, training records, and compliance tracking.
Generating reports and supporting audits and compliance checks.
Contributing to continuous improvement in HR and payroll processes.
About You
Our client is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual who enjoys working in both payroll and HR functions. You’ll need to be organised, confident handling sensitive information, and able to balance independent work with collaboration.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Minimum 2 years’ experience in payroll or HR administration.
Proficiency in payroll systems (e.g., Chris21) and Microsoft Office.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
High attention to detail and confidentiality.
Desirable skills include:
Experience with Kronos or other time/attendance systems.
Knowledge of Australian employment legislation and payroll compliance.
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
