Payroll Officer (Hybrid – 3 days office)

We’re looking for a confident Payroll Officer to take ownership of our payroll function and support our growing team.

About the role
While the role currently prepares payroll data for our outsourced provider, you’ll play a key role in leading the transition to bringing payroll fully in-house. Supported by a part-time Payroll Officer, you’ll also own payroll-related administration - including onboarding new starters, processing leavers, and ensuring employee records, contracts, and compliance documentation are accurate and up to date.

What you’ll be doing

Prepare payroll, superannuation, tax, and entitlements accurately and on time.

Manage rostering, timesheets, leave, back pay, and termination payments.

Interpret and apply the Cleaning Services Award.

Prepare payroll tax, workers compensation, and month-end reporting.

Maintain employee records using Employment Hero HR & Payroll.

Support onboarding/offboarding, contracts, compliance checks, and induction admin.

Provide payroll guidance to staff and managers.

What we’re looking for

Previous experience in a payroll role

Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation & Modern Awards.

Experience with Employment Hero and/or Employment Innovations Payroll (ideal).

Detail-oriented, proactive, and confident working with minimal oversight.

Ability to build strong relationships with our people.

The successful candidate must have full and unrestricted Australian work rights.
