As an Occupational Therapist within the Front Door Frailty (FDF) Program you’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality, culturally responsive care to older individuals presenting to the Emergency Department at Royal Darwin Hospital (RDH).
You’ll provide timely assessments and interventions through the Emergency Department and be working as part of a multidisciplinary team in conjunction with the Community Frailty Service.
Front Door Frailty Service
The Front Door Frailty (FDF) service is a proactive initiative designed to improve care and support for older Australians living with frailty at the point of entry to the Emergency Department. It is a multidisciplinary model of care aimed at improving patient outcomes by delivering Comprehensive Geriatric Assessments early in the hospital journey, to prevent unnecessary admissions and promoting safe, timely discharge.
About you
You are a dedicated Occupational Therapist ready to contribute to a high-impact service. To be successful in this role you will have:
Relevant qualifications in Occupational Therapy and meet membership eligibility for Occupational Therapy Australia and registration with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Authority
Experience providing contemporary high level clinical occupational therapy services
Proven understanding of Aboriginal culture and experience working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
Proven ability to clinically supervise students and staff with a commitment to professional development.
Proven ability to successfully manage a high-volume workload.
