About us
At Steps OTKids, we believe “Single step today, big possibilities tomorrow.” We’re a boutique paediatric occupational therapy service with long-standing partnerships in highly regarded public and private schools across Melbourne’s South Eastern Suburbs, including Hampton, Highett, Moorabbin, Sandringham, Parkdale, Ripponlea, Elsternwick, and Gardenvale, to name a few.
We proudly support children who are neurodivergent (Autism, ADHD, sensory differences) as well as those without a formal diagnosis who benefit from extra support. Our focus includes motor skills, handwriting, emotional regulation, independence, and social participation. Known for our warm, connected approach, we partner with families, schools, and other professionals to help children thrive in everyday life.
Life at Steps OTKids
You choose your hours, days, times, and frequency-ensuring flexibility and a work-life balance. With therapists based mainly at one or two partner schools, there’s less driving and more time for meaningful therapy. Modern systems and AI-enabled tools streamline admin, while supervision and PD are built in — not added on top. Our team culture is collaborative and joyful, with one-on-one mentoring and ongoing support to help you grow.
About the role
We’re seeking a Paediatric OT for a contract role. You’ll work across school, home, and community settings throughout the Kingston, Glen Eira, and Bayside suburbs, supporting children to build confidence and participate fully in daily life. Most of your caseload will be school-based, where you’ll deliver therapy, collaborate with teachers, and support children in the environments where they learn and grow.
What you’ll be doing
Delivering therapy mainly at one or two schools in one day, building strong relationships and minimising travel
Supporting children with motor skills, handwriting, emotional regulation, sensory processing, independence, and social participation
Developing and implementing individualised, evidence-based therapy plans
Collaborating with families, teachers, and allied professionals to create consistent strategies
Writing notes and reports to support growth and NDIS/school funding needs
Managing your caseload with autonomy, knowing support and supervision are always available
What we’re looking for
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy
Registration with AHPRA
Medicare provider number (or ability to obtain)
WWCC and National Police Check
Paediatric OT experience (clinical or school-based)
Strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and a client-centred approach
Flexibility, creativity, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Current Australian driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
