This position is part time (0.8) 4 days per week, for a fixed term of 11 months
indelarts is an inclusive theatre company powered by disability and neurodivergence.
Due to the nature of the role, it will require some working outside of conventional business hours, such as the occasional evening or weekend. Time off in lieu will be negotiated in good faith in these instances.
The position is based at the Judith Wright Centre in Fortitude Valley.
indelarts supports flexible working practices to promote work-life balance with flexibility for remote work (working from home) as negotiated but generally no less than 2 days per week in the office.

indelarts is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Development Manager to join our team. The Development Manager will play a crucial role in driving the growth and sustainability of our organisation.
This individual will be responsible for developing and executing strategic initiatives, cultivating partnerships, securing funding, and implementing effective fundraising strategies.
The ideal candidate will have a strong business development background, a passion for the arts, and a commitment to promoting inclusivity.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Development
Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies to drive organisational growth and achieve revenue targets.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships and collaborations to expand indelarts’ reach and impact.
Conduct research and analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive landscapes, and potential growth areas
Fundraising and Grant Management
Lead the development and implementation of a robust fundraising strategy, including individual giving, corporate sponsorships, philanthropy, and grant applications.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, and funding agencies to secure financial support.
Prepare and write persuasive grant proposals, including budget components, manage grant applications, and ensure compliance with all reporting requirements.
Strategic Planning and Execution
Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement the organisation’s strategic plan, ensuring alignment with overall goals and objectives.
Monitor progress, track key performance indicators, and provide regular reports on the effectiveness of development activities.
Identify opportunities for innovation, growth, and diversification to maximize the impact of indelarts; programs and services.
Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including community organisations, government agencies, and other arts-related entities.
Represent indelarts at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to raise awareness and foster partnerships.
Serve as a spokesperson for the company, effectively communicating its mission, programs, and impact to various audiences.
Collaboration
Collaborate with the Artistic Directors, General Manager, Community Liaison/Program Manager, Marketing Manager, and Finance to ensure alignment and synergy across the company.
CRITERIA
Proven experience in development in the arts sector
Successful track record in fundraising through grants, philanthropy, sponsorship and fundraising appeals.
Previous experience in producing successful communications across multiple platforms on time and on budget.
Previous experience in sponsorship benefits delivery.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and outstanding organisational skills.
Strong collaborative approach
Passion for the arts, inclusivity, and social impact.
QUALIFICATIONS
Proven experience in one of the following fields: business development, arts management, or relevant experience in the NFP sector and/or arts or cultural heritage sectors.
Strong knowledge of fundraising techniques, grant writing, and donor stewardship best practices.
Proven track record of success in business development, fundraising, and strategic planning, preferably within the nonprofit sector.
