Servicing businesses primarily across the rail industry, we also apply our trade within the steel, ports, oil & gas and manufacturing industries. Ongoing operational requirements has resulted in an opportunity to further expand our day shift operations, we now seek experienced and Trade Qualified Electrical Fitter/Electrician to join our team. Possessing a positive attitude and keen to work within a workshop environment, you’ll ultimately be seeking stability, security and a strong team environment from your next employer.

What you will do:

Dismantle, repair, overhaul and assembly of AC and DC Traction Motors

Conduct electrical, static and dynamic testing of equipment

Strip motors, inspect parts (coils, interpoles, endshields and cabling) for servicability

Provide accurate paperwork and maintenance records.

Be responsible for the quality of your work

Work with a large, well-respected organisation that is continuing to grow

Qualifications & Skills:

Applicants MUST have full Australian working rights. Applicants who require and/or seeking sponsorship will not be considered.

Trade qualified Electrical Fitter or Australian recognised Trade Certificate level III in Electrical Fitting; Electrical Machine Repair; or equivalent

Repair of electrical rotating machinery; motor overhauls and repairs – Traction Motor experience a plus

Ability to troubleshoot faults and establish repair options

Experience in activities relating to modification and reconditioning of electric motors and equipment

Proven ability to provide service delivery that is customer focused, flexible and adaptable

To be successful you will have:

Previous rolling stock experience (desirable)

Safety orientation and willingness to learn and continuously develop

Eye for detail, sound documentation and record keeping traits

High-level problem-solving skills and ability to work as part of a dynamic team

Exceptional work ethic and ability to follow work procedures

Strong interpersonal skills and can-do attitude.

Desire to drive innovation and exceed expectation.

Valid Australian Driver’s Licence

Highly Regarded:

Previous experience in the Rail industry

Previous rolling stock, locomotive and/or heavy engineering experience

Valid High Risk Work Licence (preference for WP, DG, LF)
