As Principal Procurement Officer you will be part of the Procurement Services Group that provides a centralised Procurement Function to the Queensland Police Service.
As part of the General Goods & Services team or ICT & Infrastructure team, you will be working as part of a small team that administers the undertaking of strategic procurement projects and contract management activities relating to high value/high risk procurement activities for the Queensland Police Service.
Your Key Accountabilities:
The core capability requirements for this role are:
- Lead and mentor a category-based team of procurement professionals, ensuring an efficient and effective environment that facilitates quality services and delivers value for money outcomes.
- Coordinate and manage significant procurement projects in cooperation with key stakeholders, ensuring that risk, probity, and transparency requirements are addressed.
- Administer complex contracts in collaboration with Contract Managers in accordance with the principles of the Queensland Government Contract Management Framework.
- Provide specialist procurement/contract and commercial advice relating to procurement matters.
- Prepare reports, for internal and external stakeholders, collaboratively develop, implement, and maintain systems and processes to enable enhanced forecasting and management of workload for the team, including appropriate resource allocation.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of contract management practices and contemporary acquisition practices, including their relationship with relevant government policies and initiatives.
- Develop and maintain positive and constructive relationships and feedback mechanisms with internal and external clients, vendors, and staff to represent procurement services and ensure responsiveness to current and future needs.
Role Requirements:
Qualification:
- Highly desirable Queensland Government Level 4 Procurement Certification or equivalent.
Technical/ Operational/ Educational experience:
- Experience in SAP.
- Knowledge of the Queensland Information Technology Contracting Framework.
