Department of Resources
Posted 1 day ago
This permanent AO7 Principal Policy Officer role offers a rare opportunity to be part of a team driving legislative and policy outcomes for rural and regional Queensland. Based in Toowoomba or Brisbane, you'll work across government and with community stakeholders to influence key projects and reforms, helping to shape a more resilient and connected future for the regions.
You're the person who can confidently break down a complex problem, weigh up risks and trade-offs, and propose a way forward — always with the needs of regional communities front of mind.
You'll manage legislative and policy projects from idea to implementation. This includes overseeing consultation processes, analysing government powers and performance, advising executives and coordinating with parliamentary processes and stakeholders. You'll need to be highly organised, analytical, politically aware and comfortable working at pace in a high-volume environment. Strong writing and relationship-building skills are a must.
To apply, please provide:
• A current resume detailing your relevant experience
• A cover letter (1-2 pages) addressing your skills, knowledge, attributes and experience relating to the position.
