About the role

If you are passionate about turf care and thrive on showcasing the best our city's sporting venues have to offer, this is your chance to shine!

In this hands-on role as Leading Hand within our sports maintenance team, you will lead a small crew dedicated to maintaining our city's premier sports venues. From managing irrigation systems and treating turf diseases to keeping gardens in top shape, your expertise will help showcase the best of our outdoor spaces.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

• Establish and maintain sports turf areas in various sporting venues
• Maintain gardens and assist with minor landscape construction works
• Identify and treat weeds and diseases in turf and garden plants
• Undertake the installation and maintenance of irrigation systems

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Current C Class Driver Licence
• Current MR Licence would be an advantage
• Current QLD ACDC Licence or equivalent is desirable
• Level 3 Certificate in Horticulture or related field would be an advantage
• Current Certificate in maintaining irrigation systems or related experience would be an advantage
• FIT Testing for respiratory protection equipment: workers must pass a respirator fit test before they first start wearing a tight-fitting respirator and at regular intervals during their employment. Workers must be clean shaven or only have facial hair that doesn't interfere with the fitting surfaces and the valve of the respirator
• Q Fever Immunisation
• Belief in our values of safety and wellbeing, communication, collaboration, integrity, efficiency and leadership

This is a full-time position with a salary commencing at $72,430 plus 12.5% superannuation.
