What's Involved
- Gain hands on experience helping keep Wollongong's beaches and foreshore areas clean and welcoming
- Assist with parks and garden maintenance across some of the city's best outdoor locations
- Work closely with experienced supervisors and mentors
- Learn to use tools and equipment safely and effectively
- Carry out tasks like lawn mowing, garden care, cleaning BBQs and amenities, and litter collection
- Learn how our team works together to maintain our public spaces for the enjoyment of our community and visitors
The Opportunity
- Work full-time for 3 weeks (35 hours per week)
- Be part of a small, supportive team
- Typical hours: 6:30am - 2:45pm
- Program kicks off Monday 5th January 2026
Who Can Apply
This opportunity is identified for current Year 11 and 12 students who are:
- Female and/or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander
- Council holds an exemption under Section 126 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW).
- Keen to work outdoors and learn new skills
- Motivated, reliable, and ready to make a difference
- Able to undertake physical and manual work

Salary for these roles are Youth Rate Year 1 - $997.99 per week.
