What's Involved

• Gain hands on experience helping keep Wollongong's beaches and foreshore areas clean and welcoming
• Assist with parks and garden maintenance across some of the city's best outdoor locations
• Work closely with experienced supervisors and mentors
• Learn to use tools and equipment safely and effectively
• Carry out tasks like lawn mowing, garden care, cleaning BBQs and amenities, and litter collection
• Learn how our team works together to maintain our public spaces for the enjoyment of our community and visitors

The Opportunity

• Work full-time for 3 weeks (35 hours per week)
• Be part of a small, supportive team
• Typical hours: 6:30am - 2:45pm
• Program kicks off Monday 5th January 2026

Who Can Apply

This opportunity is identified for current Year 11 and 12 students who are:

• Female and/or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander
• Council holds an exemption under Section 126 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW).
• Keen to work outdoors and learn new skills
• Motivated, reliable, and ready to make a difference
• Able to undertake physical and manual work

Salary for these roles are Youth Rate Year 1 - $997.99 per week.
