Your Role

Mallee District Aboriginal Services (MDAS) is one of Victoria’s largest Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations.

We are seeking a dedicated Team Leader Family Preservation, Reunification & Response (FPRR) to lead and coordinate the daily operations of this important program.

Reporting to the Manager Children and Family Services, this is a unique opportunity to move into a leadership role where you will supervise case workers ensuring a quality and timely service is provided to Aboriginal children and families referred to these programs.

This position also ensures service delivery is compliant with relevant standards and legislative requirements and is based on culturally informed Best Interest Practices. A key requirement of the role is leadership to promote effective collaboration across MDAS programs as well as work closely with Child Protection and relevant agencies.

This is a permanent, full time position based at our Mildura office location.

Key Selection Criteria

Demonstrated experience guiding and supervising a team ensuring effective service operations.

Ability to promote and actively lead team development and change management activities.

Demonstrated experience collaborating with Child Protection and knowledge of Child Protection services and protocols.

Demonstrated experience and understanding of the principles and practices of case work and case management.

Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people particularly those relevant to Family and Community.

Qualification/s:
A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology or similar field or Diploma in Community Services and substantial relevant experience.

Other Screening Requirements:
Valid Drivers License that allows you to drive in Australia.
Victorian Employee Working with Children Check card.
National Police Check.
