We provide national leadership on the implementation of the National Quality Framework (NQF) and collaborate with the Australian and state and territory governments to:
- implement changes that benefit children birth to 13 years-of-age and their families
- monitor and promote the consistent application of the Education and Care Services National Law across all states and territories
- support the early childhood education and care sector to improve quality outcomes for children

The Role
The Senior Instructional Designer will collaborate with subject matter experts and members of the eLearning team to create engaging, self-paced eLearning resources for a range of training programs that support both internal and external stakeholders of ACECQA.
This role is full time and fixed-term (12 months) at ACECQA Band 5 ($103,179 - $122,039).
About You
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Strong track record in working collaboratively with stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts to design and develop highly interactive and engaging eLearning content and storyboards that integrate learning theories and instructional design methodologies to meet the needs of adult learners.
- Knowledge and understanding of digital learning principles and practices, including current and future trends in digital technologies, and the ability to apply this knowledge to the development of effective eLearning resources.
- Advanced development skills using the Articulate suite of eLearning tools (Rise and Storyline) and Learning Management Systems (e.g. LearnUpon), with the ability to create high-quality and technically sound eLearning products that meet WCAG 2.2 AA guidelines.
- Demonstrated project management skills in an eLearning project environment, with the ability to scope realistic projects, manage competing priorities, meet timeframes, and deliver high-quality outcomes within budget.
- Proven ability to assess priorities and exercise sound judgement in a team environment, with strong interpersonal and communication skills to facilitate collaboration with subject matter experts, stakeholders, and team members.
- Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining stakeholder networks and contacts, with the ability to proactively respond to stakeholder needs and expectations, and to build and maintain positive working relationships with key stakeholders.
While not essential, the following attributes will greatly assist you in the role:
- Tertiary qualifications in eLearning technology, instructional design, or a similar field, and/or equivalent relevant experience in the design and development of eLearning resources for adult learners.
- Skills in multimedia production (Adobe Creative Cloud e.g. Premier Pro), including animation (e.g. Vyond), video/sound recording and/or editing, and publishing multimedia content on the web, with the ability to integrate multimedia elements effectively into eLearning resources to enhance engagement and learning outcomes.
- Skills in graphic design using the Adobe Creative Cloud suite.
