Vacant Shifts:

Wednesday : 7:00am – 10:00am,

Thursday 7:00am-10:00am

Saturday 7:00am - 10:00am

Sunday: 8:00am - 11:00am

Ideally looking for a new member to work all the above shifts.

We are seeking a compassionate female support worker to assist a client with a spinal cord injury in Cooloongup. The role focuses on personal care, morning routines, and meal preparation, ensuring a comfortable start to the day. You will provide safe mobility support and help with daily hygiene, while also offering companionship and emotional support to promote the client’s independence and well-being.

Please note that training will be provided and you will have a second person present on shift during all times.

Responsibilities and Duties

-Hoisting and Transfer Expertise:

-Proficiency with various hoist equipment and transfer techniques to assist clients with limited or no mobility safely and efficiently. This includes knowledge of sling types, positioning, and correct usage to prevent injury.

-Bowel and Bladder Management: Experience in managing bowel programs.

-Knowledge of catheter care , such as monitoring for infection, performing intermittent catheterization, and understanding client-specific routines.

-Pressure Area Care: Skills in preventing and managing pressure sores, including regular repositioning, skin inspections, and applying prescribed lotions or dressings, as directed by the care plan.
