About the Role

We are looking for a Kitchen Hand to support our back-of-house team at NeNe Chicken. This role is essential in ensuring our kitchen runs smoothly and food is prepared to the highest quality and hygiene standards.

You will assist chefs and cooks with food preparation, cleaning, and maintaining kitchen equipment while keeping a safe and efficient work environment.

Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation (chopping, portioning, marinating, assembling ingredients)

Cook and fry chicken following NeNe Chicken’s recipes and cooking standards

Operate deep fryers, grills, and other kitchen equipment safely

Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure food quality and safety

Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, including benches, floors, and storage spaces

Wash, clean, and store cooking utensils, equipment, and dishes

Monitor stock levels, unpack deliveries, and store items correctly

Operate dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently

Follow food safety, hygiene, and WHS standards at all times

Support cooks and team members during busy service periods

Ensure waste is disposed of properly and recycling procedures are followed

Requirements

Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment

Strong teamwork and communication skills

Good time management and attention to detail

Ability to work shifts (mornings, evenings, weekends, rotating roster)

Previous kitchen hand or hospitality experience preferred (but not essential)

Must have work rights in Australia
