Overview of role:

Managerial Responsibility for Quality, EHS through the implementation and management of a single cohesive integrated Quality management system (QMS) and compliance with ISO9001, ISO14000 and AS/NZS4804

Authority

Make changes to the QMS to enhance its performance and effectiveness.

Approve procedures relevant to the QMS.

Instigate remedial action to address product quality, safety and environmental issues and non-compliance to QMS requirements.

Specific Responsibilities

Develop, implement, maintain, and continually improve the QMS and EHS.

Communicate, promote, and provide leadership in all matters relevant to the QMS and EHS.

Liaise with customers, auditors, and external parties as required.

Document key policies and procedures required by the QMS and EHS.

Facilitate quality, safety, and environmental training in support of the QMS and EHS.

Manage the internal QMS audit program including scheduling and conducting audits.

Maintain records that demonstrate the compliance and effectiveness of the QMS and EHS.

Provide quality, safety and environmental information to support strategic planning activities.

Provide data and analytical reports for Quality safety and environmental performance.

Manage the corrective action system and champion the use of problem solving tools.

Evaluation of supplier quality systems.

Develop quality plans to exceed customer product quality expectations.

Provide training, direction, support to all direct employees to assure Product Quality

Chair the NGPA Occupational health and safety and environmental committee.

General responsibilities

Complying with Nelson Global Products local and corporate policies and procedures.

Taking appropriate care to protect personal health and safety.

Skills and competencies:

Mandatory skills Educational Qualifications

Quality management experience.

Manufacturing experience mandatory

Detailed knowledge of quality, safety and environmental management systems (ISO 9001, ISO/TS 16949, ISO 14001 and AS/NZS 4804).

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.

Procedure/report writing skills.

Competent in the use of technical measuring equipment.

Certified lead auditor.

Competent using Microsoft Office group of software.

Basic statistical and problem-solving tools.

Bachelor’s degree in engineering
