Reports To: Director of Clinical Services

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent Employee

Position Description

The Occupational Therapy (OT) Clinical Lead is a senior clinician employed on a full-time, permanent basis at The Daisy Clinic. This role combines direct clinical practice with leadership responsibilities, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based occupational therapy services while fostering a culture of Compassion, Collaboration, and Excellence.

As part of the clinic’s leadership team, the OT Clinical Lead works alongside other discipline leads and the Director of Clinical Services to guide service development, uphold clinical standards, and contribute to the long-term sustainability of The Daisy Clinic as the Hawkesbury’s leading provider of children’s health services.

Key Responsibilities
1. Clinical Leadership

Provide structured supervision, guidance, and mentorship to occupational therapists, particularly new graduates and early career clinicians.

Lead OT case reviews and support multidisciplinary case discussions.

Ensure evidence-based OT practice is implemented across the discipline, including sensory processing, functional skills, play-based therapy, and school readiness.

Uphold ethical and client-centred standards in all OT services delivered through the clinic.

2. Team Development & Training

Facilitate OT-specific supervision and contribute actively to clinic-wide monthly peer supervision sessions.

Deliver discipline-specific professional development workshops or knowledge-sharing sessions.

Support the induction, orientation, and integration of new occupational therapists into the clinic team.

Provide constructive feedback and guidance to OT students, interns, and allied health assistants.

3. Clinical Standards & Quality Assurance

Monitor and support the clinical performance of occupational therapists and allied health assistants, ensuring high-quality care and adherence to best practice.

Provide coaching and feedback to promote professional growth, confidence, and skill development.

Ensure timely and accurate documentation across the OT team.

Identify areas for training or additional support, and work with the Director of Clinical Services to implement improvements.

Promote a culture of accountability, reflection, and continuous quality improvement.

4. Leadership & Collaboration

Form part of The Daisy Clinic’s leadership team, contributing to policy development, service planning, and strategic initiatives.

Work closely with other Clinical Leads to promote multidisciplinary collaboration and integrated care.

Act as the first point of contact for occupational therapy-related issues, escalating to the Director of Clinical Services, as appropriate.

Expectations of the Role

Maintain a small active OT caseload alongside leadership responsibilities.

Remain up to date with research and developments in evidence-based OT practice.

Demonstrate openness, fairness, and approachability in working with colleagues.

Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and learning-focused team environment.

Model The Daisy Clinic’s core values of Compassion, Collaboration, and Excellence.

Essential Criteria

Minimum of 5 years’ post-registration clinical experience in occupational therapy (applications with less experience will not be considered).

Evidence of providing mentorship, supervision, or support to emerging occupational therapists.

Demonstrated expertise in evidence-based occupational therapy practice across paediatric and developmental contexts.

Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.

Current registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist.
