About the Role:
AWX is currently seeking various highly motivated individuals as an Project Support Officer for Department of Primary Industries (DPI) to support with invasive species to collect and record accurate data and information, including fire ant density data, and support logistical aspects of the project including supply of treatment products to project partners and contractors.

In support of the National Fire Ant Eradication Program (NFAEP), the Queensland Government funded the Fire Ant Suppression Taskforce (FAST) to facilitate self-management of fire ants in the suppression area.

Commencing as soon as possible, the FAST plans to undertake two aerial treatments of approximately 106,000 hectares of known high infestations of fire ants within the suppression area before 30 June 2026.

The successful candidate will perform the following role:
• Perform administrative support for aerial treatment activities, including the updating of client information into existing data systems.
• Enter and edit data accurately and maintain electronic and hard copy records, raising data issues where required to ensure data integrity in accordance with department standards
• Export and review reports and data from relevant systems. Collate and order the exported data to be escalated to management for decision-making and/or reporting purposes
• Provide timely and accurate administrative support including completion of internal quality assurance measures and delivery of information and documentation
• Use judgement and problem solving when undertaking allocated tasks and non-routine requests to meet timeframes, competing priorities and quality requirements
• Acquire and sustain a working knowledge of relevant information systems
• Participate in the continual improvement of operational processes and identify inconsistencies in the application of operational procedures
• Provide technical support to the operational delivery of FAST to suppress fire ants ahead of eradication by the National Fire Ant Eradication Program.

Mandatory requirements for this role are:

Highly desirable for this role:
• There are no mandatory qualifications for this role, the following knowledge and experience is highly desirable and would be highly regarded:
• knowledge of ArcGIS or other GIS software qualifications in a related field
• knowledge of customer service, and previous operations administrative experience.

Location of role:
• Berrinba, Queensland (other DPI office locations in SEQ may be considered).
