We’re on the lookout for a Trainee Personal Carer who would like to begin their carer in Aged care.

About the role:

In this role you'll provide essential and practical care to help older people live a comfortable and enjoyable life. Cooinda is an Aged Care Facility based in the town of Coonabarabran, employing almost 145 staff across many different roles! We have many career opportunities and are always looking for people passionate about caring for others.

As a Part-time Trainee Personal Care Worker, you will work under the guidance of our experienced care staff and our Clinical Care Coordinator, while studying towards your Certificate III in Individual Support (ageing). Some of the duties include:

Assisting residents with their personal care needs such as showering, dressing and meal times including feeding if required

Providing Manual handling support to team members, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for other staff and residents

Accurately document resident's current condition and care needs

Skills and Experience - What do you need?

We're seeking individuals who are:

Compassionate and respectful toward older people

Excellent presentation, interpersonal skills, and friendly demeanor

Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a busy team environment

Reliable, Flexible and proactive in your approach to work and dedication in providing exceptional care

Willing to undertake a Certificate III Individual Support ( Ageing) and are committed to completing a traineeship

Able to undertake 15 hours per week of work and training

Hold valid Australian working rights
