Are you a strong regulator with an interest in mining?

As the Director Mining Assessment and Compliance with the Northern Territory Department of Lands, Planning and Environment, your role is to lead the assessment, monitoring, and review of mining activities in the Northern Territory to promote economic investment while ensuring high standards of environmental management.

As the successful applicant for this position, you will manage a team of assessment and compliance officers across the Territory, regulating all mining related activities, from exploration to extractive operations to mining operations. You will bring strong project management and team leadership skills to ensure regulatory licensing processes are completed within statutory timeframes and that compliance and enforcement activities are completed in a timely manner. Your knowledge and expertise of the mining industry will be integral to your success in this role, with your technical skills in an area relevant to mining highly valued.

You will professionally represent the Mining Division and Department in across Government forums and with the mining industry. You will have strong engagement, negotiation and communication skills.

A Class C drivers license is required, as is the capacity and willingness to travel to remote parts of the Territory by road and air.
