Agri Labour Australia is seeking a Senior Return to Work Coordinator to lead injury management and rehabilitation initiatives across multi-jurisdictional sites. This pivotal role, available as either a full-time or part-time (24 hours / week over three or four days) ensures injured workers recover safely, efficiently, and sustainably while maintaining compliance with legislation.

About the Role
The Senior Return to Work Coordinator combines operational case management with strategic advisory responsibilities. You will manage complex claims, develop Suitable Duties Plans (SDPs), liaise with insurers and medical providers, and provide guidance to leadership. The role reduces lost time injuries, controls claim costs, ensures compliance with multi-jurisdictional obligations, and supports Agri Labour Australia’s reputation as a proactive and supportive employer.
Core Capabilities
- Relationship & Stakeholder Management: Build trust with injured workers and coordinate internal teams and host employers for timely reporting and suitable duties.
- Insurance & Workers’ Compensation Knowledge: Navigate legislation, lodge claims accurately, and escalate contested decisions or delays.
- Provider & Financial Management: Approve invoices, maintain remittance records, and monitor insurer reimbursements.
- Clinical Knowledge: Interpret medical certificates and translate restrictions into practical SDPs.
- Strategic Case Management: Develop proactive strategies, monitor psychosocial risks, and ensure timely SDPs.
- Advisory & Influence: Advise leadership on injury management issues and influence host employers to provide modified duties.
- System & Data Capability: Maintain centralised records and produce dashboards tracking claims, LTIs, and cost exposures.
Requirements
- Return to Work Coordinator certification or equivalent experience.
- Allied health or rehabilitation qualifications highly regarded.
- Three (3) + years’ experience across multi-jurisdictional workers’ compensation, rehabilitation consultancy, or employer-based injury management.
- Empathetic yet assertive, proactive, detail-oriented, and collaborative.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills with medical providers, insurers, host employers, and internal teams.
