This is an opportunity to take ownership of IT operations for a well-established medium-sized financial services group in the heart of the CBD with an extensive adviser network. You’ll oversee day-to-day systems, manage external providers and guide a small in-house development team, ensuring stability while helping the business make measured improvements.

Who you will be working with:

You’ll be joining a respected financial services group with operations spanning financial and advisory services, corporate finance and more. You’ll be the central point of accountability for IT, working closely with the CEO and business leaders. You’ll manage relationships with a long-standing managed service provider and lead a team of five software developers who support and enhance core systems.

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Manage day-to-day IT operations across infrastructure, applications and business systems
• Lead and support a small in-house development team, ensuring effective delivery of system enhancements
• Oversee the managed service provider, holding them accountable for performance and support
• Provide clear communication and updates to the CEO and senior leadership on IT matters
• Identify opportunities for practical improvements in systems and processes, and implement them smoothly
• Support occasional IT involvement in business activities such as due diligence for M&A

We are looking for someone with:

• Broad IT operations experience in small to mid-sized organisations, comfortable being hands-on
• Proven experience leading software developers and working with agile practices
• Strong relationship management skills when dealing with external service providers
• Clear communication style – able to explain IT issues and solutions in plain English
• A pragmatic, organised approach with the ability to create and deliver structured plans
• A self-starter attitude, comfortable working independently and taking initiative
