PROJECT MANAGER

Council is seeking a Project Manager to join our Infrastructure & Assets team. This full-time position is based in Sorell and offers the successful candidate the opportunity to lead and deliver a range of projects that support the growth, renewal and improvement of Council’s infrastructure and Capital Works projects.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING…
As Project Manager, you will lead the successful delivery of Council’s capital works projects – from investigation and design through to construction and handover. You’ll manage scope, budgets, timelines and WHS compliance, while preparing and administering tenders, contracts and project documentation.
A key part of your role will be engaging with stakeholders to ensure projects meet Council’s objectives and community needs, while delivering positive, sustainable outcomes across roads, footpaths, drainage, traffic management and other infrastructure assets.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR…
We’re seeking an experienced Project Manager with a proven track record in delivering capital works projects from concept to completion. You’ll bring strong technical expertise in road and stormwater design, construction techniques and WHS requirements, alongside solid skills in project estimating, tendering and contract management.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver, able to work independently while engaging effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders. Strong analytical, communication and report writing skills are essential, together with the ability to provide sound technical advice and drive positive project outcomes.
A relevant qualification in project management, engineering or civil construction is highly regarded, along with practical industry experience. Experience in local government and proficiency in CAD/drafting programs will also be viewed favourably. A current driver’s licence is required.
