About the role

New Horizons Tas Inc' is seeking a full-time North West Sport and Recreation Co-Ordinator to join their team in Tasmania. In this strategic role, you will be responsible for coordinating and promoting sport and recreation activities across the North West region, with a focus on engaging the local community and driving participation.

What you'll be doing

Develop and implement sport and recreation programs and initiatives to meet the needs of the local community

Liaise with local councils, schools, community groups and sporting organisations to identify opportunities and coordinate collaborative projects

Manage the promotion and marketing of sport and recreation activities to increase awareness and participation

Provide advice and support to community groups and clubs on the development and delivery of sport and recreation activities

Monitor and evaluate the success of programs, making recommendations for improvements

Manage budgets and resources to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of sport and recreation services

Represent New Horizons Tas Inc' at relevant meetings, forums and industry events

What we're looking for

5+ years of experience in a sport and recreation coordination or community development role

Proven track record of developing and implementing successful sport and recreation programs

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with a diverse range of community groups

Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage budgets and resources effectively

Demonstrated understanding of the sport and recreation industry, including trends, challenges and best practices

Passion for promoting healthy and active lifestyles within the community
