The Role

Reporting to the Store Manager, the Tool Repair Technician will diagnose, service, and repair a wide range of cordless, electric, petrol and hydraulic tools and equipment. This position suits candidates with a background in mechanical fitting, small engine repair, electrical repair, or power tool service who thrive in a hands-on, fast-paced workshop environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and complete mechanical and electrical tool repairs
• Disassemble, repair, and reassemble tools using technical manuals and testing devices
• Conduct soldering, rewiring, and component replacement for electrical systems
• Manage and maintain parts, stock, and consumables
• Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and team members
• Record repairs, service notes, and parts usage in company systems
• Ensure compliance with Sydney Tools WHS Policy and manufacturer guidelines

What We’re Looking For

• Experience as a Power Tool Repairer, Service Technician, Mechanical Fitter, or Small Engine Mechanic (preferred)
• Demonstrated knowledge of compressor repairs and petrol motor servicing (advantageous)
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Competent computer skills for logging jobs and ordering parts
• Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
