The Role

ABS Trailquip is seeking a skilled Boilermaker / 1st Class Welder to join our Manufacturing Facility in Rocklea.
In this hands-on role, you will be involved in building converter dolly trailers from start to finish, as well as working across a variety of heavy vehicle projects. Welding and fabrication are central to the position, with opportunities to broaden your skills across other areas of vehicle manufacturing.

Salary: $75,000 - $80,000 + superannuation.

Key Responsibilities

Fabrication and welding of medium to heavy steel materials

Build and assemble converter dolly trailers to specification

Read, interpret, and work from technical drawings

Maintain a safe work environment and follow OHS procedures at all times

Contribute to general trailer and dolly fabrication and repairs

Assist with spray painting and finishing tasks (preferred but not essential)

Key Requirements

At least 1 year of full-time experience in a related field

Proficiency in TIG/MIG welding

Ability to interpret drawings to specification

Trade qualification is an advantage, but not essential

Spray painting experience highly regarded (not essential)

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Proven ability to operate competently in a heavy fabrication environment

Awareness and commitment to safe work practices

Previous experience working with trailers or dollies will be highly regarded
