The opportunity

We are in the market for a self-motivated and experienced individual who can lead a team in providing efficient and effective general bushland maintenance tasks in the City’s bushland, estuary and coastal reserves.

As Team Leader you will lead the team in providing bushland maintenance tasks including:

  • Native species identification and pruning; tree planting, guarding and monitoring
  • Assessment monitoring and mapping activities within reserves
  • Integrated weed control and identification
  • Fence installation and repairs
  • General bushland, coastal, wetland rehabilitation and maintenance
  • Providing on the job training and guidance to employees including trainees

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Certificate IV in Conservation and Land Management/Certificate IV in Conservation and Ecosystem Management and/or Diploma in Conservation and Land Management
  • Current unrestricted C class national driver’s licence
  • Current White Card
  • Chainsaw Ticket
  • Previous experience supervising employees and conducting practical staff training
  • Previous experience in a bushland conservation environment including weed control and the safe handling and application of weed spray chemicals
  • Experience in Natural Area’s work prioritisation and delegation
  • Experience in general bushland rehabilitation construction and maintenance activities
  • Competent in the use of tablets, smartphones and other electronic devices
  • Current Basic First Aid Certificate
  • Current Basic Worksite Traffic Management and Traffic Controller Certificate
