About the Role

We’re seeking a skilled Senior Medical Imaging Technologist to join our team at Perth Children’s Hospital. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive, specialised environment where paediatric MRI services are delivered with compassion, precision, and innovation.

As a key member of our MRI team, you will perform and interpret specialised diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring image quality meets the highest diagnostic standards for a wide range of clinical scenarios including soft tissue, neuro, trauma, cardiac, GA (general anaesthetic), interoperative and functional MRI.

Your ability to work independently, and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team will be valued.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Liaising with radiologists, clinicians, and theatre teams to deliver exceptional, patient-centered imaging services.
  • Monitoring equipment performance and contribute to quality assurance and service improvements.
  • Supervising and mentoring imaging staff.
  • Contributing to the development of new protocols, procedures, and research activities.
  • Participating in service planning and departmental quality improvement initiatives.
  • Willing to participate in on-call services and shared responsibilities across modalities including General X-ray.

About the Team

Based at Perth Children’s Hospital, Western Australia’s only acute tertiary paediatric centre, our dedicated Medical Imaging Team offer a comprehensive range of diagnostic imaging and interventional radiology services to children aged 0-16 years, including inpatients, outpatients, and the Emergency Department.

Our team provides a wide variety of imaging within the subspecialties of interventional radiology, paediatric cardiac catheterisations, general X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound, and fluoroscopy.

We focus on achieving the highest quality imaging studies with a compassionate, child-friendly approach. Our department is equipped with highly specialised facilities and equipment designed to create a safe and comfortable environment for infants, children, and their families.

As part of our dedication to excellence, we benchmark our services through collaboration with other children's hospitals and actively participate in research initiatives. We support research projects and contribute to the advancement of procedures through partnerships with universities and paediatric specialist foundations.
