Assistant Insurance Broker - East Melbourne - Up to $75k + Super

Your new role

The Assistant Account Executive (AAE) plays a key support role within the broking team, and is a hands-on, office-based position that provides essential administrative and operational support to brokers and clients.

• Handle front-counter payments and enquiries, and assist brokers with general queries.
• Process new business, renewals, endorsements, and amendments accurately and efficiently.
• Respond promptly to enquiries and requests from Account Executives and senior brokers.
• Provide and follow up on quotations to ensure timely service and client satisfaction.
• Prepare correspondence for approval and maintain up-to-date Claims Status reports.
• Escalate and respond to customer complaints within required timeframes, ensuring fair and sensitive resolution.
• Monitor and assist with complaint resolution, acting with impartiality and empathy.
• Undertake professional development and maintain compliance with relevant industry regulations.
• Build knowledge of client industries, the insurance market, and internal products and services.
• Collaborate effectively with team members and management, keeping others informed and respecting contributions.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, support organisational goals, and maintain confidentiality.
• Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and a proactive approach to work in a busy, team-oriented environment.

What you'll need to succeed
This is an excellent role for someone with some basic understanding of insurance to progress in their career within a successful commercial broking team. The role would suit someone working within a brokerage in a support role, or an assistant account executive looking to move into commercial insurance. This role may also be suitable if you have taken on work in insurance claims for a brokerage, or have financial services experience with strong organisation skills. You must be a strong communicator, and be highly proficient with technologies such as broking platforms and Excel. This role is only suitable for candidates with full working rights in Australia.
