Qualifications & experience

At least 3 years experience in this role or similar.

Have own vehicle or be able to get to your location of work (local jobs only, transport will be provided for further away jobs).

Tasks & responsibilities

Being responsible for organising your rostered team, transport and logistics for the week ahead.

Work in Tasmania (including travelling to remote areas and working away from home). Be able to travel away from home to work on Mainland Australia and New Zealand.

Recording all information and data specific to the job and site. Complete daily vaccination reports for each day.

Fish welfare checks and audits, including dissecting of fish to check their health prior to vaccination, liaising with fish veterinaries to confirm vaccination plans and schedules.

Anaesthetising of fish, enabling optimal fish welfare with minimum stress to the fish, conducting regular pre, during and post anaesthesia checks monitoring the oxygen, pH and temperature levels and determining the time of regular anaesthetic water changes for the fish during vaccination.

Post vaccination recovery management - to set up and monitor the fish and behaviour of the fish post vaccination ensuring the anaesthesia process and vaccination process has been adhered to correctly, documenting any abnormalities for record.

Liaising with internal management, site management and veterinaries to ensure minimal stress and optimal fish welfare for vaccinations.

Post vaccination checks to ensure no abnormalities post vaccination and document for record.

Maintenance and service of all vaccination equipment (guns and machines), pre, during and post vaccination, adhering competently to all biosecurity cleansing measures throughout all processes using provided laboratory designated area and sterile instruments.

Adhering to all biosecurity measures within each fish farm and ensuring site staff adhere to all vaccination biosecurity protocols and measures.
