About the role:
We are looking for a qualified Maintenance Fitter for an afternoon shift role at our Dudley Park manufacturing site. This role will report directly to the Maintenance and Reliability Manager. You will play an integral part in our Maintenance team, by providing high-quality maintenance and repairs to our automated food processing equipment throughout the plant, with a strong emphasis on preventative maintenance, to achieve acceptable production levels.
Daily Tasks:
Work against the preventive maintenance schedule to ensure machinery, equipment and facility are maintained to an acceptable standard.
Disassemble, inspect, reassemble, troubleshoot, repair, and replace malfunctioning parts or equipment.
Fabrication, welding and machining work where required.
Attend to machine/equipment breakdowns and undertake repairs.
Record maintenance carried out and corrective work in the CMMS
Keeping work areas and workshop clean and in a safe state.
To be successful in the role, you will need:
Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade. (Australian recognised Mechanical Trades qualification only)
Must have existing unrestricted working rights within Australia
Proven experience in a Mechanical Fitter role. (Min. 4 years)
Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably primary food processing or food and beverage industry.
Experience in breakdowns as well and preventive maintenance tasks.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong understanding of mechanical systems and equipment.
Proven experience in assessing equipment conditions and making sound decisions on corrective actions.
Sound computer literacy.
Ensure all work is completed to a high workmanship standard.
A safety-oriented mindset with the ability to demonstrate safe behaviours in the workplace.
A current and unrestricted driver's license.
B Class Electrical Licence – optional or willing to obtain.
Welding experience - preferably TIG.
A strong understanding of pneumatics.
Forklift Licence – optional or willing to obtain.
Understanding of 5S principles.
Familiar with HACCP & SQF compliance.
Remuneration: $90 000.00 + 15% afternoon allowance
Hours of work: 13:45pm – 9:45pm (7.6 hr working day) Monday to Friday
Work: Depending on your experience level, you will work on day shift with other team members for the first 2 months to gain a better understanding of the machinery and processes before transitioning to afternoon shift hours
