About the Role
We are seeking a qualified Field Service Engineer for this full-time role with our service team in Adelaide. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, calibration, servicing, preventative maintenance, and advanced technical support of dental and veterinary equipment.
This role covers digital imaging systems (OPG, CBCT, intraoral cameras), dental chairs, sterilisation systems, thermal washer disinfectors, handpieces, compressors, suction motors, and associated software and IT integrations.
The position ensures compliance with manufacturer and regulatory standards, with a focus on radiation safety legislation and the safe, effective use of biomedical and dental technology.
Key Responsibilities
Install, commission, calibrate, and service dental and veterinary imaging and clinical equipment.
Conduct pre-installation assessments and provide technical advice on equipment suitability.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, electronic, and software issues on-site and remotely.
Install, configure, and test networked imaging and diagnostic systems.
Undertake performance verification and safety testing in line with radiation safety and engineering standards.
Maintain records of work completed, including service logs, quotations, and diagnostics in company software (simPRO).
Order and manage spare parts, maintain company vehicle and tools, and minimise downtime for clients.
Provide technical support and training to clinicians and staff, ensuring excellent customer service.
Ensure compliance with company policies, WH&S requirements, and manufacturer specifications.
Skills and Experience
Demonstrated experience working with biomedical and dental imaging equipment, including mechanical and software components.
Proficiency in troubleshooting imaging software both on-site and remotely.
Knowledge of radiation compliance requirements, testing, and record-keeping.
Strong understanding of physics, engineering principles, computing systems, and diagnostic methodologies.
Knowledge in mechanics, electronics, and plumbing is advantageous.
Competency with Microsoft Office and digital reporting tools (Excel, Word, PDF, Email).
Qualifications
Essential:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Biomedical, Electrical, Mechanical or related discipline) or at least 5 years relevant work experience.
Radiation Safety in Installation and Servicing licence.
Current driver’s licence (manual).
Desirable:
Biomedical Engineering degree or postgraduate qualification in medical technology.
Industry factory-based training.
White Card (for construction site access).
