Experienced Cook – Capricorn Bar and Grill (NEWMAN OTC PTY LTD)

Newman OTC Pty Ltd, trading as Capricorn Bar and Grill are seeking an experienced Cook to join our team and prepare delicious meals for our customers. At Capricorn Bar and Grill, we are not your typical remote WA venue – we pride ourselves on offering modern, clean facilities that rival Perth metro standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

· Set up the kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment (e.g. knives, pans, scales).

· Review recipes and gather required ingredients.

· Cook meals in a timely manner.

· Delegate tasks to kitchen staff as needed.

· Inform wait staff about daily specials.

· Present dishes attractively, maintaining a consistently high standard.

· Adjust recipes to meet customer requests (e.g. reduce salt, remove dairy).

· Check food freshness and dispose of expired items.

· Suggest and experiment with new recipes or ingredients.

· Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations, including temperature checks, cleaning schedules, and other procedures.

· Assist with receiving and storing deliveries.

· Work effectively under pressure in a busy kitchen environment.

Requirements

· At least 1 to 2 years proven experience as a Cook.

· Hands-on experience with a range of kitchen equipment.

· Strong knowledge of culinary techniques (including baking and pastry).

· Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.

· Excellent time management and organisational skills.

· Up-to-date knowledge of modern cooking techniques and recipes.

· Familiarity with sanitation and food safety regulations.

· Culinary school qualification preferred, but not essential.
