Lives Lived Well offer a variety of community and residential Alcohol and Other Drug programs throughout Queensland, New South Wales, and South Australia, helping thousands of people every year to navigate AOD related challenges and move forward in life.

A new Ipswich Residential AOD Treatment Facility is opening, which will deliver high-quality, specialist residential AOD treatment services for adults aged 18 years and over. The centre will provide a total of 46 beds, comprising 36 beds for residential rehabilitation and 10 beds for withdrawal management and care.

Your Opportunity

We’re looking for two highly motivated AOD Support Workers (Floor Managers) to join our Residential Services team. In this pivotal role, you’ll serve as the primary point of contact for our AOD Support Workers, ensuring consistent support, supervision, and structure for clients engaged in the treatment program. While not a formal leadership position, you’ll act as a reliable ‘go-to’ team member, helping to uphold a safe, recovery-focused, and trauma-informed environment that empowers individuals working through substance dependence.

This is a full-time, permanent position (Monday to Friday) with a rotating fortnightly roster. You’ll need to be flexible to work alternating shifts: 7:30am–3:30pm one week, and 10:45am–6:45pm the next.

Salary for this role is between $38.00 - $41.00 per hour plus Superannuation and Salary Packaging up to $15,900 per year. Although the service will be operational late November 2025, and we are looking for people able to start in October for training and induction.

What you’ll bring

You don’t need to hold a formal qualification for this role, but you do need to be motivated, committed, and ideally have demonstrated experience working in either the AOD, Mental Health or Aged Care sector. Your skills and attributes will include:

· Being a dependable ‘go-to’ team member – you’ll be approachable, solution-focused, and trusted by others to help maintain consistency and structure across the six-week residential program

· An interest in taking on a range of relational tasks – you’ll work with residents at an individual and group level to assist them to address their substance dependence and the issues associated with this

· Demonstrated experience in, or willingness to learn, group facilitation, including agenda and goal setting, and participation in meetings

· Ability to support residents through admission and discharge processes, organise community-based outings, and supervise self-administration of medications

· Builds genuine connections and strong communication skills – you’ll bring empathy, resilience, and hope to every interaction, supporting clients from diverse backgrounds as they navigate detox and recovery

· Emotional maturity and a calm demeanour as the first point-of-contact for high-pressure or conflict situations

· A strong understanding of the complexities surrounding alcohol and substance use, and confidently models professional boundaries in AOD support work

· You’ll self-care – this role can be challenging and it’s important to us that you are at your best, to do your best

· Being willing, engaged and comfortable with change – we welcome ideas and suggestions for improvement

· Strong computer skills, experience with client note-taking and an understanding of how handovers work

You will need to hold a current Australian Drivers Licence, and either hold, be working towards, or willing to obtain a Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs, Mental Health, Community Services or other relevant field. You will also need to be willing to obtain your First Aid and CPR Certificate.

Most importantly you will have passion, commitment, and a great attitude with a genuine alignment to the Lives Lived Well values. Our values are:

  • We are humble, human, and full of hope
  • We show up and share
  • We ask: Why not? And what’s next?
  • We leave a positive wake

Benefits of Working with Us
