As the Senior Policy Officer within the Funding Strategy and Intergovernmental Policy Branch, you will have the opportunity to support the delivery of quality health services in Queensland by helping to ensure Queensland Health is appropriately funded and effectively represented in inter-governmental policy debates.
What you'll do
- Coordinate and prepare advice on national health policy and reform issues, including Commonwealth State agreements, Commonwealth health funding issues and budget outcomes, with a focus on implications and benefits for Queensland.
- Coordinating and contributing to the preparation of high-quality, accurate and timely briefings, submissions, and other written materials to support Queensland Health's intergovernmental activities.
- Support Queensland's participation in intergovernmental forums attended by the Minister, Director-General and Senior Executive.
About you
We are searching for someone with:
- Strong coordination, project management and administration skills including the ability to set priorities, coordinate multiple tasks, undertake stakeholder liaison, and deliver high quality results by required timeframes.
- Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to present complex information clearly to various audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain productive professional relationships and networks and consult with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders regarding the development and implementation of organisational priorities, systems and processes.
- Ability to critically analyse information and issues, and research and develop policy advice
- Knowledge of the Queensland Australian health system or ability to rapidly acquire such knowledge.
- Knowledge of governance and committee processes or ability to rapidly acquire sure knowledge.
- Prior experience with public sector policy cycle and governance forums
