The Department of Local Government, Water and Volunteers (DLGWV) is at the forefront of driving sustainable growth across Queensland. Our mission is to manage water resources responsibly and empower councils to support and grow Queensland communities. In this role you will:
• Contribute to the development of policies and programs that support strategic andcoordinated responses to Queensland's priority water projects.
• Undertake research and analysis to provide evidence-based options that improvepolicy, legislation and business processes.
• Prepare high-quality policy papers, briefing notes, reports and submissions forsenior decision-makers on departmental priorities and initiatives.
• Engage with and build respectful relationships with First Nations peoples, communities and organisations, ensuring their voices are included in policy design and program outcomes.
• Develop and maintain productive partnerships with stakeholders across local, stateand federal government, industry, First Nations communities and community organisations.
• Represent the Department's vision, values and strategic agenda with professionalism when engaging with clients, stakeholders and partner agencies.
• Coordinate information sharing, consultation and negotiations to support the delivery of project objectives.
• Provide clear, timely and evidence-based advice on complex policy and project issues.
• Contribute to a positive and high-performing team culture by supporting colleagues, sharing information and building capability.
• Prepare progress reports, presentations and correspondence to support executive and stakeholder decision-making.

About you:
• Ability to provide clear, evidence-based policy advice and translate strategic objectives into practical outcomes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work within ambiguity.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to present complex information clearly and persuasively to a variety of audiences.
• Proven ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with stakeholders, including First Nations communities, government agencies, industry and community organisations.
• Commitment to collaboration, teamwork and contributing to a positive and high performing workplace culture.
• High standards of professionalism and integrity, demonstrating accountability, sound governance and respect for diversity.
• Motivation to contribute to projects and policies that deliver real benefits for Queensland communities.
