Ooma Enterprises is a Logistics and farming company that specialises in Farming (supply), Storage & Handling, and Bulk Transport. We are a small, privately owned business, established in 2004. We are looking for a farm hand to perform the following duties:

DUTIES:

Crop Production:

· Management of soil moisture, preparation of seedbeds, planting of seeds.

· Maintaining crop health and nutrition, control of weed and insect populations.

· Operating farm equipment for various tasks like tilling, planting, spraying, and harvesting.

· Storing and handling of harvested grains.

Livestock Management:

· Providing livestock with feed and water.

· Assisting with animal health and welfare, including birthing and rearing young.

· Maintaining and repairing fences, buildings, and water systems.

· Mustering and moving livestock between pastures.

General Farm Operations:

· Monitoring crop and livestock health and reporting on conditions.

· Loading and unloading supplies like feed, seed, fertilizers, herbicides and insecticides.

· Maintaining farm buildings, equipment, and water supply systems.

· Following safety procedures and maintaining a safe working environment.

ACCOUNTABILITIES: (Under the Instruction and Guidance of the Farming Manager)

Safe and legal operation of company vehicles and farm machinery under the management and instruction of Ooma Enterprises.

Daily checks and maintenance of farm vehicles and machinery within defined tolerances

Reporting and recording of identified faults of farm vehicles and machinery.

Reporting and recording of crop stages of growth, plant health and any irregularities.

Daily inspection and reporting of animal health.

Professional representation of the company.

SPECIFICATIONS: (Eligibility Requirements)

Experience in farm work, particularly in crop or livestock management, is required

Minimum 1-2 years of farm work experience is required for this position.

To work as a Farm Hand requires an alertness, physical stamina and strength, decision-making ability, some mechanical aptitude and driving skills.

Ability to work as part of a progressive team and to communicate in a professional and respectful manner with all stakeholders within the team.

Having Spatial Awareness and the ability to recognize a hazard and to operate with caution.

Knowledge of relevant regulations governing driving and machinery operation.

Understanding and competence in basic tractor servicing and preventative maintenance

Must meet or exceed the medical standards set by the NRTC.

Candidates must complete a full medical examination to meet NRTC medical standards.

Hold a Current driver's license.

Heavy Rigid (HR) class driver's licence is required.

Australian citizenship is required for this position.
