The Role: This role is Full Time and will be a Hybrid role that have opportunity to go to our sites at Penrith, Plumpton and Merrylands where you will be working closely with residents.
We are seeking a passionate and motivated Allied Health Assistant (AHA) with a background in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Therapy, or Fitness to join our Penrith, Plumpton and Merrylands Facility.
This role is vital in supporting the physical wellbeing, independence, and re -enablement of older adults in our Residential Aged Care facility. Working under the delegation and supervision of Physiotherapists and other Allied Health Professionals, the AHA will deliver safe, person-centred exercise programs tailored to individual needs and group settings. You will play a key role in running functional fitness and wellness classes, facilitating re-enablement programs, and providing 1:1 support to clients based on clinical direction. A core component of this role will be the oversight and coordination of wellness gyms, ensuring equipment is used safely and programs are both engaging and effective.

Requirements
Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance (specialising in Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy) or equivalent such as Certificate III or IV in Fitness
Experience in physiotherapy assistance
Have knowledge of anatomy and physiology to support safe and effective exercise within the aging population
A warm, friendly and empathic approach with a passion for Aged Care
Strong computer literacy and numeracy skills are essential
Computer literacy skills such as using mobile devices and web applications a must
Ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines and complete activities (including the ability to work within the scope of practice and seek assistance when required) as delegated by supervising Physiotherapist/Allied Health Professional
Up to Date COVID-19 Vaccination & Current Flu Vaccination required

Commitment to quality, best practice and environmental safety
Ideally you will be a 2nd - 4th year physiotherapy student or have competed the Certificate III or Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or are a recent graduate in disciplines such as Exercise Physiology, Sport Therapy/Rehabilitation.
